Why It Matters
The ONE Pink Cup demonstrates how sporting events can serve dual purposes: fostering community engagement and generating critical funds for health services. By directing proceeds to the Breast Cancer Unit at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and to financially vulnerable patients at Achimota Hospital, the tournament supports early detection, treatment access, and patient care in Ghana. The presence of a government minister underscores the event’s alignment with national health priorities and amplifies public awareness of breast cancer screening and support programs.
